The SAM2 unit was on Hindringham Road during February monitoring traffic speed and the volume of vehicles coming down the hill.
From 14 – 28 February 2026
2,540 vehicles were recorded coming into the village with an average of 171 per day.
The maximum speed was 50 mph at 11:50 pm on 27 February, (and the average speeder was just under 23 mph).
The majority of vehicles were travelling at approximately 20 mph (below the speed limit which is 30 mph). The 85th percentile speed (i.e. of 2,159 vehicles) was 30.7 mph; and the average speed was 22.6 mph.
