Norfolk County Council (Walsingham, Tamil One Pilgrimage)
Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2026 – Notice Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“RTRA 1984”) as amended by the Road Traffic Regulation (Special Events) Act 1994
Norfolk County Council, hereby give notice that to facilitate the Tamil One Pilgrimage, they intend to make an Order under Section 16A of the RTRA 1984 and all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict/prohibit vehicular traffic on the:
- U14025 Green Way, from its junction with B1105 Wells Road, continuing along C325 Barsham Road, ending where it joins C586 Fakenham Road. Also includes the adjoining roads of U14013 Farm Road and U14133 Grays Lane coming off from C325 Barsham Road
in the Parish of Barsham with Houghton St Giles.
The Order shall be in effect (in force) on 3 May 2026 and or until the restrictions are no longer necessary, whichever is the earliest. The roads will be temporarily restricted (except for emergency and pedestrian access) for the duration of the Tamil One Pilgrimage which is anticipated to be between 7am and 7pm. The restrictions specified will only have effect at such times and to such extent as indicated by the display of on-site signs.
Alternative route will be via: B1105 Wells Road, C325 Barsham Road, C478 Hall Road, C586 Fakenham Road, C325 Barsham Road, C586 Fakenham Road, C325 Barsham Road, C586 Fakenham Road.
The promoter of the event is Walsingham Trust.
A person who contravenes, or who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of, a restriction or prohibition imposed by this Order shall be guilty of an offence.
