The SAM2 unit was at the junction of Knight Street during May 2025 monitoring traffic speed and the volume of vehicles from Wells Road.
From 3 May to 25 May 2025
- 15,017 vehicles were recorded coming into the village with an average of 928 per day.
- The peak times of travel are 9 am to 10 am (average of 78 vehicles); and 3 pm and 4 pm (average of 98 vehicles)
- The maximum speed was 50 mph at 5:30 am on 18 May, (although the average speeder was travelling at just under 40 mph).
- The majority of vehicles were travelling below the speed limit which is 30 mph. The 85th percentile speed (i.e. of 12,764 vehicles) was 27.6 mph; and the average speed was 21.4mph.
