The Post 12A 116 mins
Oscar winners Steven Spielberg, Meryl Streep, and Tom Hanks team up for the first time in this thrilling film based on a true story. Determined to uphold the nation’s civil liberties, Katharine Graham (Streep), publisher of The Washington Post, and hard-nosed editor Ben Bradlee (Hanks) join forces to expose a decades-long cover-up. But the two must risk their careers – and their freedom – to bring truth to light in this powerful film with a celebrated cast.
Join us for our half term screening! On Tuesday 24th October at 7.30pm.
We screen the animated film MY LIFE AS A COURGETTE (PG) + short (originally voiced in French, we are screening the English language version).
With Erick Abbate, Romy Beckman, Ness Krell, Amy Sedaris. Director Claude Barras. 66mins
Nominated in the 2017 Oscars Best Animation category, an animated film which defies categorisation. A film for half term week, this is not a purely children’s film. Claude Barras’ stop-motion animated feature is a poignant and well observed story about the darker side of childhood. It touches on bereavement, bullying and the desperate plight of young orphans but does so in a way that is humorous and ultimately redemptive.
Special joint screening with Wells Walsingham Light Railway on Thursday 28th September:
WWLR departure from Wells at 6pm. Special train ticket price, adult return £6.50, child return £4.50.
Cinema tickets, adult £4.00 child £3.00, on the door.
Doors open at the Parish Hall for refreshments and cinema ticket sales, earlier than usual, at 6.30pm. Film at 7pm. (more…)
