Parish Council Meeting

The next meeting of the Parish Council is on Wednesday 5 July 2017 at 7.15 for 7.30pm in the Village Hall. Members of the public are cordially invited to attend.

Advance notice of road closure 19 July

NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL has made a Temporary Traffic Order affecting the C597 Scarborough Road from a point 160m north of its junction with C597 Holt Road heading north for 250m in the PARISH OF WALSINGHAM because of restring overhead electrical cables.

The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) from 08:30 19th July 2017 to 16:00 19th July 2017 for the duration of the works, expected to be about 1 day within the period.

Alternative route is via: C597 Scarborough Road, C322 Whey Curd Road C321 High Street, C586 Walsingham Road/Wells Road, C597 Knight Street/Holt Road (Walsingham CP,Wighton CP).

(If necessary the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date of the Order).

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.

In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance.

Take a free tractor and trailer tour of Walsingham Estate farmland, meet Walsingham Estate farmers and find out more about how they produce our food.

Take home a pumpkin plant to grow, enter our Pumpkin Competition with judging in October.

Supplier tastings, children’s activities, beers from Norfolk Brewhouse in Hindringham and farm shop BBQ for sale.

10am-4pm. Tractor and trailer tours free, donations welcome to YANA, the farming mental health charity, and the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Public Engagement Meeting
The next Public Engagement meeting for Wells and surrounding villages will be held at Wells Police Station, Polka Road, Wells-next-the-Sea at 6:30pm on Thursday 24th August 2017. Why not come along and have your say? After the meeting the Safer Neighbourhood Action Panel will discuss and decide the priorities for all partners to act upon for the next three months. The adopted priorities will be published on the Norfolk Constabulary website, via Police Connect and Social Media.

Friends of Walsingham School Fete, Sunday 2nd July

The Friends of Walsingham C E Primary School are holding their Fete on Sunday 2nd July, at the Recreation Ground (Village Hall if wet).

On the second day of the Walsingham Open Gardens weekend, the fete will be a great place to stop off to browse the stalls, enjoy the activities and sample the refreshments while raising money for our lovely little school.

Time to start buying raffle tickets, there are two great prize draws, the Grand Prize Draw tickets 50p, £5 book of 10, and the special Sports Prize Raffle for signed shirts! £1 per ticket.

Raffle tickets available from many different outlets, including Walsingham Village Stores, Great Walsingham Gallery and at the school.
