Building Facade - Common Place

We were thrilled when the staff at the Primary School offered to help us find a way to involve the children at Walsingham School in the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. We decided to organise a poster competition for the children, to advertise the Big Jubilee Lunch Picnic on Sunday 3rd June in the Abbey Grounds. The children worked very hard to produce their poster designs before the Easter break. The idea was that the winning design would be reproduced as a poster to be displayed around the village. The Diamond Jubilee committee were hugely impressed with all the designs. The standard of both the overall design, and the drawings in them, and the clever use of colour, was so good that we have found it very difficult to choose.

We have chosen one overall winner, this lovely colourful rainbow design by Marchelle Walter, age 9 in Year 5, but we also selected five ‘highly commendeds’…

We have now arranged to display all the children’s entries for all to see and admire, using the window of the Letterbox Shop in the High Street (will be on display soon!). All six of the winning designs will be used as flyers and posters around the village. In the meantime you can preview them here!Union jack Diamond Jubilee picnic poster
